Zoteus (MCP for Zotero)
Zoteus connects Zotero directly to AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, and Cursor via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). It enables searching library metadata, notes, annotations, and indexed PDF/EPUB content, and can generate citations from within the AI interface. Best suited for item-level retrieval and citation support.

Corpus-scale semantic search (Docling → Qdrant → Open WebUI)
A more advanced workflow for large libraries. Documents are extracted and structured with Docling, indexed semantically in a vector database such as Qdrant, and queried through Open WebUI using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). This enables concept discovery, literature reviews, cross-disciplinary synthesis, and semantic search across tens of thousands of documents. Zotero remains the source of truth and document manager.
